   The Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Assam, has announced a recruitment drive for 445 Veterinary Field Assistant (VFA) vacancies under the Directorate of A.H. & Veterinary, Assam, Guwahati-3. Interested and eligible candidates can apply before the deadline.

Age Limit :

• Candidates must be at least 18 years old as of 01/01/2022 and should not exceed 40 years as of 01/01/2025 as per Government Office Memorandum No. ABP.6/2016/51 dated 2nd September 2020.

  • OBC/MOBC : 3 years  

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have passed HSSLC (Science) with Biology as a subject and should have completed the One-Year Training Course in elementary Veterinary Science from the recognized School of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, established by the Government of Assam at Ghungoor, Silchar.  

Physical Standard

• Candidates should be in sound mental and physical health, free from any organic defects that might interfere with the efficient performance of duties. A medical examination will be required before the appointment.  

Application Process :  

• Candidates must apply using the Standard Form (Part IX of the Assam Gazette) along with necessary testimonials and a self-addressed envelope affixed with a Rs. 5/- postal stamp.  
• The completed application should be addressed to The Director, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Assam, Chenikuthi, Guwahati-781003 and must be submitted physically in the Drop Box at the Directorate during office hours or sent via Registered Post. 
• Applications must be submitted on or before 18th March 2025 (5:00 PM).  
• Additional Instructions :  
  • One recent passport-size photograph must be affixed on the application form, and another should be enclosed with the application, duly signed by the applicant.  
  • Since attestation by a competent authority is no longer required, candidates should submit self-certified copies of certificates and mark sheets along with their applications.
